Boa Constrictors-Are classified as new world snakes, they are native to Central and South America. They differ from other snakes in that they give birth live. The boa constrictor is general nocturnal and primarily terrestrial snake. They kill their prey by constriction. It coils restrain the prey and tighten as the prey exhales, leading to suffocation. Boa have a life expertise of 20 years or more if properly care for. They are generally even temper gentle giants. My breeding collection is comprised of the following boas:

Brazilian Rainbow Boa Constrictor: As the name indicates this stunning boa is from Brazil, and the pictures do not do it justice. Their coloring and markings make them a sort after addition to any collection. They have hues of pink , orange and purple that become iridescent when the sunlight hits them. This not a beginner snake because it is a high maintains snake. They like to soak in water so a large water bowl is needed and require a high but even amount of humidity (not heat) at all times. The Brazilian Boa is slender snake and as an adult usually 5 to 6 feet in length .
Dumeril Boa:
Are a species of snakes native to only Madagascar (the island off the coa
st
of Africa). This unique boa is brown and beige with specks of pink and
hues of peach. They are no longer exported from Madagascar due to
the over exploitation ,they can only be purchased domestically. They are
not as large as the Columbia or Argentine Boa and would do well in a 4x2x2
enclosure.
Hogg
Island
Boa: This beautiful snake is native to Central America and Hogg Island.
Unlike its cousins the Columbia Boa their tail is orange and (not the red) .They
are beige in color with hues of peach. A larger hardy boa, therefore
they need a larger enclosure than most boas. They do well with an
evaluated source of humidity, but not as much as the Brazilian Rainbow Boa
.
